I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 13 years ago and I’m still figuring out how to manage this horrible neurological disorder. Until now I’ve never talked about it with others than those in my immediate family. Like many I see a bunch of doctors, and specialists that I work with to manage the pain and a myriad of debilitating symptoms that occur on, what seems, a whim.
I feel I’ve done enough research for myself and have been through the trials and errors of finding what works for me. Now, I want to share what I’ve learned with those, who like me, are suffering, fighting, and managing a chronic pain disorder.
The purpose of this blog is to share with other Warriors how I work from home with Fibro, how I manage different symptoms, levels of pain, and to share the story of how I volunteered to be a guinea pig for my pain management doctor and my Neurologist. All in the name of research. The search for pain relief without profound side effects and to create awareness to gain more acknowledgement from the doctors who think it’s all in our head. Fibromyalgia is a truly disabling disorder. And it’s time the medical field as a whole, acknowledges that and truly sees it for what it does to our lives.
If you are newly diagnosed and can’t make sense of what your experiencing, I’m not going to lie to you. There are horrible things coming your way my dears, and Gigi’s here to help in any way I can. You’re not alone.
No question is dumb or laughable. Ask away! If I can answer, I will. If I can’t I’ll look it up or ask my doctors. Together we will find a true cause and cure!
